Students from across Cheltenham Education Partnership schools came together for this inspiring project in which participants addressed issues around fashion consumption in the context of school uniform. They were challenged to design and make wearable fashion items from used/second-hand school uniform. The project ran over the course of 3 activity days, where pupils gained an understanding of issues surrounding fashion consumption, the impact fashion has on the environment and an understanding of a life cycle of a school uniform. Additionally, all pupils gained a variety of skills such as up-cycling and/or repurposing school uniforms, teamwork, leadership, creativity, technical sewing and drawing skills for example.
