Max Wilkinson is the Liberal Democrat cabinet member for Climate Emergency at Cheltenham Borough Council. A former journalist and infrastructure communications professional, Max was the proposer of the motion to declare a climate emergency in Cheltenham. Since joining the borough council leadership, Max has led the charge for our first carbon neutral council homes, helped form the Cheltenham Zero partnership and award a dozen grants for climate projects. Max lives in Fairview, has been a councillor since 2014 and is a two-time General Election candidate – missing out on victory by just 981 votes in 2019.Website: https://www.maxwilkinson.org/
Raechel Kelly worked for 12 years in sustainable finance before founding her own consultancy The Liminality, which helps organisations to think regeneratively. She is currently working with local sustainability charity Vision 21 to launch 'Planet Cheltenham', a community climate action hub where people can be supported and empowered to tackle the climate crisis. She runs the Youth Climate Group in partnership with Severn Wye Energy Agency and does outreach work with residents’ groups, parish councils and schools to embed climate solutions everywhere. She lives with her family in Cheltenham and will mostly be found on roller-skates, or in the kitchen at parties (asking where the recycling bin is). Website: http://planetcheltenham.org/
